The first all-african online dictionary

To start off, besides English and Kiswahili mainly south western and southern African languages are featured. The aim is to fill up the data base with further languages of the African people.

To find out which languages are currently featured in the data base, take a look to the Language List.

This is how you can use the site:

• You can translate a single word from one african language to another: use the Quick Finder
• You can look up a word in the vocab categories: use the Word-Categories section
• You can help completing the vocabulary data base: use My AfriPic to subscribe as an author and help completing the word lists
• You can navigate to other sites on Africa: go to Links to Africa
• You can communicate with other people: write into the Guestbook and have a look what other people have to say
• Take care of the notations used in this online dictionary: use the Notation Rules link in the Spell Check category
• You can have a quick look into the grammar structure of a language: use the Grammar Check link in the Spell Check category
